Anyone planning to live in North Philly?

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone was planning on living within walking distance of the med school campus. Since I wont have a car I feel like this will be the best option. If anyone is planning on living there or knows anyone who is planning on living there, I would like to get in touch with you. Thanks, and I can't wait to meet you guys.

Alex,

I've said this to a few other people who asked the same thing. I've lived in Philly my whole life (including college, I went to Drexel) and really know the city pretty well. Temple's undergrad and medical CAMPUS(es) are fine. BUT, directly surrounding the campuses the neighborhoods can be pretty sketchy.

You really don't want to live in North Philly. No car? Live in the city and take the subway everyday. Or, live in manayunk/east falls/roxborough/philly suburbs and take the train, then the subway. But trust me. DON'T LIVE IN NORTH PHILLY.

Agreed! North Philly is a bad area. Anywhere within walking distance of the campus isn't going to be a safe place to live.

Agreed! North Philly is not the best place to live but when it comes to studying hard and being sleep deprived nothing beats rollin out of bed five minutes before class and walking across the street...I'm livin in North Philly.

I've been in the city my whole life as well. Definitely do not live in North Philly. Live in Center City or Fairmount Area closer to Broad street and take the subway to school.
