Parking Question (Marie Fiero please help!)

Hi everyone,

I looked at the parking info that was recently posted by Marie Fiero, and I have a couple small questions.

1) If we're students who will drive to campus everyday (from orientation right on through graduation), would we want "guaranteed access parking"?
2) It says for students, we can get parking for September through December by paying for it by August 29. BUT what about parking in August, when classes/orientation starts?
3) Does it really matter which garage we get a spot in? Is there any difference? If so, do we get to make a request for which garage? How so?

Thanks so much to anyone who can answer this!! Hope you guys are enjoying your summers, and on a side note McGillins is an awesome bar (see Scotty Lang's post below). We might as well party it up before we hit the books real hard this year. I mean hey, we all want to be the best med school class in the history of Temple, right??

Sorry it took me so long to answer your parking questions.
I don't drive to school, so I had to use my classmates as a
resource. Here's what they said:

1) Guaranteed Access parking is what you want if you're driving to school every day. You can take
your chances parking on the street, but it's not recommended.

2) The parking system is structured around the normal
academic year at Temple main campus so you will have to
request extra parking for those weeks that
aren't covered. (Easy to do, just write a note with your
parking application and then pay the weekly amt for those.)

3)No it doesn't really matter which garage you park in.
Most of the students park in the Carlise garage, but the
ontario west garage is also good (mostly the doctors and
hospital staff get first pick at that garage) but both of
these (which are next to each other) are the best as they
are the closest to the med school and are safe even at night
